So heres what I want from you all, as this is going to be a pretty important piece for me I want it to be of something very special that not only brings joy to me but to many others when they see it. If you could see a painting of any moment from any race, driver, team, era etc what would it be?
The most popular one will be the subject of this painting. I'll be posting images of this pieces progress throughout the process.
So get those Castrol R lubricated brains in gear and lets here your thoughts.
Looking forward to this.

Now you're talking, and a dark red Alfa P3 with a mini-Tazio at the wheel would be good as well.

How about something quintessentially English: ERA R4D at Shelsley Walsh
I know it's not your usual type of subject so it will be a challenge!

never seen a photo of the 2 together, so come on the artists!
Or - Jackie Stewart's blue Matra coming out of the mist on the Nordschliefe during the 1968 German Grand Prix - something akin to J M Turner's The Fighting Temeraire is what I have in mind.

Delta S4 RAC Rally 1986.
Peter Revson winning 1973 British GP
Gunnar Nilsson winning 1975 Cadwell F3.
Funny Cars at the Pod
All of above meant to be a little less obvious than the usual suspects for automotive art

Danny Sullivan won in the works Modus, but the drive of the race that afternoon belonged to Dick Parsons who struggled to get past Nilsson for several laps, but then went on to finish third and set fastest lap, but only after Dick and Gunnar "fully" collided following quite a few previous attempts to do so!
God bless them both - I'm sure they are still discussing that afternoon.

Card or not, done before or not; it's still an iconic image.

(particularly if you've looked at MotorsportARTIST's website and seen the type of picture he paints)Right guys, I hope you're all well. As many of you will know I'm a motorsport artist who has not been able to produce anywork due to being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Good news though, I'm having the best Physio and occupational therapy at the moment and have been able with some equipment to hold a paintbrush again!

If Le Mans is the normal topic, Ford's 1-2 in 1966.
Or Ickx and Hermann in 1969.
Or if it's racing movies, Pete Aron and Jean-Pierre Sarti.

I saw it race when I was 13, and 38 years later my memories of that car and driver surpass all others (despite Gilles Villeneuve being my all-time favorite driver, and seeing him win in Canada in 1978).
Those who witnessed the Sunoco 917/30K in person, and were old enough remember it, would now range from their 40s on up.
Your work is great, and I'd buy one even though I'm broke.

Ignore the "truth" at your peril... Frequency does not mean bland. It does not mean dull. It does not mean un-interesting. To do it justice, it requires a new approach.
I agree it's been done before, because it's iconic; so why couldn't it be done again?
Meanwhile, try a first lap, turn one picture. La source, Copse, Montreal? St Devote? any of those would provide passion and drama. The VFX approach (yes I've looked at the images ) would work here too IMO.
