I have been advised that for many years the South African Drivers' Championship was contested in Formula 1 cars. I am not very familiar with that series, but I would like to find a source that would provide the starting grids of those races held from 1961-1965. If anyone could point me to a book, or even better a reference source on the internet that has this information, it would be very helpful for a project that I have begun.

...which I'm afraid doesn't cover what he's looking for. Quintin Cloud's site lists the race winners, but very little else.

There was a special volume of the Black Books on South African Racing, produced in an edition of just 100. A few people here - although not I - have copies. See the thread Before we lose track ...
