In among the pics I have on hand is this jewel. The rider standing on the right in Western Australia's Wally Higgs (recently died in his 90s). Fantastic atmosphere, and who are the other guys? From the original Higgs collection, now held by John Napier-Winch.

Is that a Shark motif on their chests?
Maybe a visit to UK by NZ Southern Sharks team?

Ah! clue is in the title Yarmouth Speedway team!

Hi. Yarmouth were called "The Bloaters" after the localy caught herrings. The rider on the left, squatting, looks a bit like "Split" Waterman. Split had a chequered career and developed into an international gold smuggler. It was not as succsessful as speedway for him as he got caught with gold in the chassis box sections of a Triumph Herald. The bike is a Mk.2 Excelsior from 1949 or 1950. Super photo of the great post-war speedway period. Got any more?

Hi, Another couple of great shots. The bike on the inside might be the one in the first photo-the front fork is not strutted like the one on the outside, a Mk.2 excelsior feature.

Well Done! I said on another thread that there is a wonderful depth of knowledge on this forum and this proves it.

There is, but not in this case Rotrax. I stumbled across the pic on a "defunct speedways" site yesterday. There's quite a swag of stuff from the old British League days on the net.
