Now that Liuzzi has completed the field for 2011, its time to decide who will be the honoured partcipant of the HLWITTL? competition for 2011. Most obvious candidate is one of the HRT drivers and I would suggest that Narain has to be the favourite choice for this year.

For those of you new to the forum and the HLWITTL? competition. Every year we decide on a backmarker driver and each race guess how many laps they will complete on the lead lap. You score a point for every lap you are away from the correct answer with the lowest score being the winner at the end of the season.

Vote for your preferred candidate and we will see how it looks in a couple of weeks.

Cheers
Mark

Like most others I would have voted for Karthikeyan, but I think there would be a problem with that: I believe we played him in 2005 already!¹ I'm not entirely sure, but I think we've succeeded in rotating this honorary position between different drivers throughout the years, which is why my vote goes to Liuzzi.

¹The link in the Hall of Fame thread is dead, but in the url it says hlwittlk...

It was Narain indeed: http://forums.autosp...showtopic=83277

It's also something of a tradition to choose a rookie IIRC. D'Ambrosio might be an alternative.

Thanks guys....I agree, best not to repeat Narain. My vote changes from Narain to D'Ambrosio.

So if it is D'Ambrosio, will the game be named HLWITTLD, HLWITTLd or HLWITTLA?

I think d'Ambrosio is the right choise (apart from problem with the game's name :p ). Virgin seems to be more reliable. We don't know if HRT will be able to do less than 107% winner's time in Q1, they also can have many reliability issues in first races what will make this game a lottery.

I've voted for D'Ambrosio.

If it were one of the HRT drivers, I'd worry that the entire game would be ruined if their lack of winter testing means that they're outside the 107% rule...

i assume there is a contingency in place for when our chosen driver fails to qualify? last year it went senna, hrt driver 2, di grassi etc

anyway, i voted karthikeyan in a the poll but now think dambrosio would be a better fit

OK, am going to close the poll off now. Equal votes recorded for both Kartikeyan and D'Ambrosio, but at least 3 people have requested to change their votes, so that makes D'Ambrosio the victim...ooops, sorry winner.
