Hopefully this is the right place to put this...

My Grandad was a keen amateur grasstrack and trials rider in the 1930's, and competed at the Red Marley hillclimb (near Shelsley Walsh) a few times when the event was in it's heyday. At my parents house they have a big trophy that he won for a motorcycle event in 1935, called 'The Frank Hallam Cup', awarded by the Bearwood Amateur Motorcycle Club. I've done a bit of digging as to what kind of event the trophy was for but come up short - after all it was an amateur event from 76 years ago! Can anyone shed light on what the event was that he won? My Grandad's name (Ron Delamont) is the last one engraved on it, so I don't know whether that was the last year it was run or whether he just never gave the cup back! :) He died 14 years before I was born so I could never ask him about his riding years - It would be nice to find out more about the trophy.

Image below of the -very unpolished- trophy.

For some reason it uploaded to imageshack sideways!
