A slot racing Mallock

So I made a pattern with Mallock Spares' blessing and here it is, just ready for moulding. It also has the beginnings of a simple brass chassis with a small "cube" motor, which is all that will fit.
I'll be doing a few shells, if anyone is interested.
These will be resurrecting the old Guild Master Models name, not seen since 1986.
Cheers,
Martin

What scale is that and what motor are you using?

Hi Martin.
What scale is that and what motor are you using?

Here is one used in a plastic and plated-steel toy made in the 1970s:

The one I'm using is slightly different and sounded a lot faster on the test battery.
Nothing else I have fits, except possibly a toothbrush motor, but I don't have one.
This is a bit of a rush job.
Peter Sussex on the slot forum makes heavily bodied vintage style models with aluminium chassis and reports that they go quite well with the cube motors.
But 1mm brass sheet is actually not very heavy.

what about using a Scalextric Lotus 7 chassis?
Paul
I have one of those as well and it sounded slow on 6Volts.

This is accurate 1/32nd scale and the Scalextric Seven is oversized by quite a bit, but you're welcome to try it if you have a spare chassis and one of my shells.
I don't buy R-T-R stuff as I only have access to my son's loft wooden track occasionally.
The depth available for a motor is very limited. But one of the "toothbrush" motors might fit and is a faster one I think.
I may have one kicking around so I'll dig it out and try it for a fit.
The mould was made yesterday and I'll be moulding the first body shell tomorrow.

I think I like it:

They turned up on two modern Triumph Triples, which is what I call style and sealed the deal with a nice bottle of Merlot.
I have orders for two shells already, so that's what I'll be moulding next week!
Here's the finished model.
