Not sure, but that looks like a 'Norton' logo on it (not the traditional one but the 'modern' one they used for a short while in the 50's and early 60's). Race number 13 is a bit unusual too. Dustbin fairings were only in use for a couple of years before being banned by the FIM in the late 50's, so it was probably taken off the bike and replaced with the 'dolphin' type.

My guess is it was used on a Manx Norton, probably a solo but maybe an outfit? Someone on here will know more about it I'm sure.

I have a picture of my dad's outfit in 1959 which this is similar to, the design around the number is the same. The name on it was "Spartan" but I have never known if this is the manufacturer, the machine was a Matchless G45 ( think these were rare) and he did the IOM TT on it. Good Luck , Harold

Hello, yes I think it is off a Norton, I think I can see some kind of frame inside the rear fairing.
Thank you and best wishes.

Hi, ok its not for a sidecar. I am wrong again. No holes in the main fairing for the sidecar frame to bolt onto the featherbed frame.

Dusker,

This is what they looked like on a Manx - a great bit of workmanship!
