Welcome to a brand spanking new season of F1 Pools!
Note! I find the FIA and their constant tinkering with the rules so deeply inspirational that I, too, have decided to make minor changes for 2011. Specifically, I've decided to do away with the cumulative points-from-all-races-added-up system and adopt the official F1 World Championship points system instead. That means I'll use the old, familiar F1 Pools scoring system to settle the results for each round and then hand out points according to the 25-18-15-etc scheme. It goes without saying - but I'll type it anyway - that the F1 Pools Champion 2011 will be the person with most championship points at the end of the season.
If you've been here before, you know how this works. If you haven't, you can find out by clicking THIS THING RIGHT HERE!!! Yes, that. Clickity clickerson! It directs you to my 2009 (!) season opener post that contains the game rules. I'm afraid the presentation continues to be as messy as ever but I'm linguistically stunted and can't seem to clean it up. But the whole thing really is a lot clearer than it may appear at first glance. Really. So don't be a wimp; get in there, make some sense of it and post a guess!
Here are the duels for the season opener in Melbourne:
Qualifying: Race:
1. Red Bull - McLaren 7. Red Bull - McLaren
2. Ferrari - Mercedes 8. Ferrari - Mercedes
3. Renault - Williams 9. Renault - Williams
4. Force India - Sauber 10. Force India - Sauber
5. Toro Rosso - Lotus 11. Toro Rosso - Lotus
6. HRT - Virgin 12. HRT - Virgin
Post your guesses before the start of qualifying.
I'm not really picky about the format you choose to use but something along the lines of 'XXX 12X 22X 12X' would be great. But as long as it's clear what you mean, it's OK.
So, guess away! Good luck!
