Is there any ex-Lotus person still around who was involved in building the very early Elites? The first 15 or so (of which I have one) were labelled "Prototypes" and individual build specs appear to have varied in detail. There's plenty of speculation among owners of these cars as to how they varied at the outset and why, bearing in mind that most will have since been "improved". Perhaps there's someone out there who can remember it all and put much of the speculation to rest.

I take it you've read the Ortenburger book, which goes into a fair bit of detail of the variations?
