Unless you really do post at the promised time, I won't see it for several hours (and will therefore be bottom of the class)
(I'm going out just after that time)

  HI David...I hear what you are saying..I.m sure that you noticed the first reminder was dead on 7.00 pm aus time..
to the minute...Because Ray Bell pointed out that it was usually at his evening dinner time..I put it back one hour..so that he
did.nt miss his pudding..!!..I did check all the local times of the usual contenders.. ( as I am a thoughtful..son of a gun ) and
found n.z. ...10..pm Aus....7.pm Uk...10..am USA....3 to 5 am (sorry ) NSW...8..pm.... If you can suggest a better time I am too happy to oblige.. Looking forward to your reply..All the more the merrier..I might sneak it in a bit before time..!!!

The first 2 races were run by the Canterbury Car Club. "The Motor Racing Club" was formed on 25 October 1950. The club history states for 1951 that "In giving permission for this Trophy to be named after her, Lady Wigram expressed the hope that the race and trophy presentation would be annual events.."

Tim...................1..Daid and I got CRAUFORD..(Who can we check with ???)

Well, m'lud, my case rests on these crucial pieces of evidence:

It's spelt Craufurd in Stirling Moss, the authorised biography by Robert Edwards

It's spelt Craufurd in All But My Life by Stirling Moss and Ken W Purdy

It's spelt Craufurd here:

http://www.geneall.n...e.php?id=558220

Now over to m'learned friend Mr McKinney for the defence, but, as in all quizzes, it's not whether you've got the right answer that matters, it's whether your answer agrees with the quizmaster's. :rotfl:

Wenoopy................22..(Perhaps I should not have put this question in !!! )
TIM........................22..Proctor YES
...................................Riley YES

I'm now quite sure that Wenoopy is right on this - the correct answer is 1951.

Q...8..If a car race is run using FORULA LIBRE FORMAT...What does this mean....?? 3..Rules..??

Allowing for the omission of the M in Formula above, such a class does not exist. It is either Formula Libra, or Formule Libre, so it was a trick question, otherwise any near-enough answer to any of the questions can claim to be correct. David McKinney has clarified this FL point previously. Questions should be unambiguous in detail to elicit the accurate answers.

That would depend on what your definition of a "stock car" is. There are plenty of sanctioning bodies not under NASCAR's control.

I told you I was gpoing out just after 9am...

I bow to Tim on Sir Stirling's second name

But the quizmaster is wrong about Morrie Proctor winning the Lady Wigram Trophy: as wenoopy pointed out, the 1949 race (which Proctor won) was not the Lady Wigram Trophy

Pre-WW1 beach venues, in addition to Brighton: Waikanae Beach (Gisborne), Warrington Beqach (Dunedin)

John Medley would certainly have know the 'Large Tablet' nickname, Ron, and I'm surprised DMcK didn't beat me to it.
