Sauber's subsequent disqualification from the race result has had quite an effect on the final standings. Jamiebavfc has jumped out to a 57pt lead after a very strong performance from his lower order drivers. 59 from Sutil & 70 from Glock + a sterling performance from Hamilton means he steals a march on everyone after race one. Reigning champion August was one of many badly affected by the Sauber issue. DWRacers' score was made all the more impressive by having a HRT driver in Liuzzi in his team! Poor Penguin has already been cut adrift after only Alonso & Toro Rosso got him any points of note. Next up is Sepang in 2 weeks time. Hopefully Sauber & HRT can get themselves in order. Stay tuned for the updated price list so that anyone who wants to make changes can make them.

Aarghh! If I calculated correctly I would've scored 708 point without Sauber disqualifications. Hopefully they'll have a successful appeal.

NEW PRICE LIST

Seems a bit harsh that you've only put things up (no reductions) when to substitute already costs 10% of what you paid. Is this the final price list for the whole season now?

How does it now work when with the new values many are now over budget? If a team is now over budget because of the adjustment and wants to sell eg Vettel, that player would sell at 27m*.9=24.3 but because some of his elements have a combined increase of 5m, does that then mean the player has only 19.3m with which to buy a replacement? Is a player able to remain over budget for the rest of the season? Just wondering.

It's the same as what happened last year and there were similar comments to last year's too. Yes this is the final price list.

Firstly, increase-only adjustments mean that people who bought someone won't have someone coming and buying them for less, it also means you can't sell someone and buy them immediately back at a lower price potentially getting yourself free money, and also, far more importantly, the main reason is that it benefits those who spotted a bargain before the season starts and prevents people jumping on what might now be a blindingly obvious bandwagon like Petrov, or as I called it last season "doing a Brawn...".

It's still possible to buy the element, it just has a more realistic valuation now.

Modified values like Petrov or Perez have no bearing on someone's budget. The new price only affects people trying to buy him in. Someone who bought Petrov for €16m will be able to sell him for €16m(-10%). No team is 'over budget'.

Oh well. I guess Petrov is effectivly 20m now as, raising the 18m to buy Petrov necessitates sales with a 10% loss on the deal. Thanks for clarifying this.

I know what you are saying but that goes for every driver you want to buy, not just Petrov. Buying Barrichello is also €18m and would require taking a hit on any sales too. Leaving Petrov at €16m would be foolish as he is clearly not a €16m driver. On the evidence of Australia, he's more an €18m driver than Barrichello is.
