Hi,
I'm specifically looking for information on a car that was registered on 04/27/1925. The registration # is 125 and the chassis and engine were assigned the # WR1. It was called the RAJO Special, probably one of several. This was a West Coast car.
I'm also wondering about the registration process itself. Did all AAA cars have registration plaques? Were the registration #'s started over every year, done by region or state, etc.? Cars were given chassis and engine #'s and on the plate I've seen they were the same. Was that always the case? Was each chassis and engine actually stamped with that number and if so where? Is there significance to the the engine and chassis # such as an owners or drivers intials. Did the number 1 mean the first engine put in the car or first chassis?
The older I get the more I find out how little I know!
Thank you for any help or suggestions,
John
