Why not throw this one in, Ron, so David McKinney will get off to a good start?

As long as one of the questions relates to the make of rear axle...

Even John Medley might pick it, of course.

Thanks for your confidence, Ray - misplaced, I fear, though when you tell us the answer I'll probably say, "Yes, of course! Obviously!" :)

Having set aside half an hour for Ron's quiz this morning I may now miss out...

Shouldn't take long to fix it. Plenty of smart people in Oz. Remember the (long since dead) NZ politician who said of the nett migration loss of NZers to Australia, that the outflow to Oz increased the collective IQ of both countries!

It's probably an ex-Secret Service laptop and they left a few bugs in it (or forgot where they were!).

Hi Ron.... I feel really bad about unknowingly sabotaging one of your as yet unpublished questions.
To atone for this heinous transgression, I have decided to replace it with one of my own.

Question #*#* :

Which NZ driver of the 1950's was brought up in this house.
I have never set foot in the house, but it's quite possible that you may have. The driver was not necessarily unknown in Australia, either.

This car was known as a 275LM from the moment Ferrari needed to homologate the 3.3 engine.

As I understand it, although 275LM is the technically-correct designation based on the cylinder capacity, Ferrari always insisted that the correct designation was 250LM. (Source: Ferrari by Tanner and Nye)

Someone did his Compulsory Military Training in the late 1950's at Hobsonville RNZAF, and I thought he might recognise house.

Air Force bought it from Tom Clark's family in 1950 and variously used as Task Force HQ, Married Qtrs , then Aviation Medical Unit . Was called "Ngaroma" but now "Clark House" (in Clark Rd Hobsonville). Clark Pottery/Brickworks was behind it on foreshore, many years ago...

Be that as it may, in an effort to support Ferrari, David McKay insisted that the car be called a '275LM' from the time it was just a few months old.

It was always entered as such here from that time.
