I thought this thread was dead and gone....
Frank Cantwell of Tojeiro-Jaguar and earlier XK fame was a clothing manufacturer in a fairly big way.
Still on Jaguars, Brian Watson (remember the Bagnall-Jaguar) worked on Jaguars for many years. Couldn't really say he was an author ("Racing Jaguar in New Zealand").
After Jack Shelly, all who owned or raced the D-Type Jaguar were farmers - Angus Hyslop, Simon Taylor, Gary Bremer.

Ray Stone is fit and well. If you go to the TNF thread entitled 'BRDC Lunch - Hamilton , New
Zealand ' there are at least three photos of Ray. There are photos which include quite a number
of others who were also in the motor trade - as well as a number who were not!

Longtime lurker, I thought I'd mention a few South Island drivers over the years to 1988 when I crossed the ditch.
In the OSCA class, I recall John Fisher (Capri Chev) being the owner of Fishers Fine Arts in Colombo St, Christchurch and I'm pretty sure Avon Hyde (Clyde Collin's Capri Chev and later Commodore Chev) being a Christchurch City Council employee. Then there was Ian 'Inky' Tulloch (Capri Chev) who ran Tulloch Transport out of Mataura
Most where in the motor trade though, Trevor Crowe (Starlet V8) had Trevor Crowe Motors, Rod McElrea (Mustang, then Cortina Chev) had a car yard in Ashburton, Bob Slade (Mustang then Capri V8) and Rob Kennard (Mustang, then Cortina V8) were both engine builders. Ian Munt (Capri Ford, then Chev V8) owned Exhaust Systems Ltd in Hornby, Steve Vigurs (Cortina, Celeste and Commodore Chevs) owned Southside Motorcycles, John Harcourt (Escort V8, then Starlet V8) had a service staion and workshop at Prebbleton. Warren Burt (Corolla then Starlet) and Graeme Richardt (Datsun) both had car yards in Timaru.
In South Island Production, I recall Jim Little (Charger) from St Andrews being a farmer and Barry Lloyd (Falcon) Ashburton being in the construction industry.
Others will come to mind as I dredge the depths....
