I picked up the book this morning at a local store and, having the day off, read it. I was a little surprised as I thought it would be about the first 500, but in reality is more a book about the birth of the Speedway... or i should say a story about Carl Fisher's life during the birth of the Speedway. While at times a bit tedious to read, I still enjoyed it and feel like I learned a lot.
I do have questions. How long did the airplane hangers remain on the grounds, and where were they located?
New book about the first Indy 500
