Beyond a couple of posts stating results, there's not much mention within TNF of hillclimbing in Poland in the 1920s and '30s.
For those who have an interest in that period - myself not included, I hasten to add - here is an image of a Bugatti(?) driven by Jan Ripper, which hangs on the wall of the fabulous restaurant next to Morskie Oko (a beautiful glacial tarn) in the Tatra mountains, on the southern Polish border with Slovakia.
Uploaded with ImageShack.us
The caption reads, "In the years 1927 - 1933 on the road to Morskie Oko, the International Tatra Automobile Races took place. In the picture, Jan Ripper."
If any other Tee-En-Effers have made that beautiful, exhausting walk up the hill, I'm sure, as I did, they would be able to imagine how suitable - and indeed, dangerous - this piece of road would have been for such an activity. Vehicles are now banned from that particular stretch of road, with the exception of horse and cart, for environmental reasons, as it is now designated as a National Park.

Tatra Races were held in 1927-1931 (International in 1928-1931). In the picture probably Czech driver Josef Vermirovsky.
