The inscription on the trophy is interesting.
J M Lelievre was president of the ACO but he died in 1976 3 years before the date on the trophy.
Presumably the trophy was awarded in his honour but who to?
The inscription "Vainqueur a la Distance" suggests it was awarded to the overall winner who covered the longest distance (ie the #41 Ludwig, Whittington & Whittington Porsche 935), but if that's the case I'm surprised to see it being offered on eBay.
I tried searching for photos of the winners on the podium, but this is all I could find (no trophy in sight).
