Whos going ??? Fantastic entry. Welcome to use my stand (if I knew where it was) as a meeting pont. Situated in the Art and Photography tent. Last I heard it was going to be opposite start and finish line.

I will be there on Saturday. I'd love to go on Sunday as well, but apparently I have dogs and a garden

It was (still is) a dilemma choosing which day to go, but on balance I thought 1000km’ for pre-72 sports-racing cars just edged it.

Does anyone know whether the facilities will have been improved (well, provided actually !) since the HSCC in early April ?

Seating has gone up on the exit of the new reversed chicane and similarily opposite the pits but don't expect too much. I think it should all be ok.

I was intending to go but I've done my foot in again (my doctor is yet to explain how I can have identical injuries in four of the last five Aprils!!) so I will have to miss it.

Anyone willing to act as ORC's "agent" and ask some questions of the F2 guys?

Allen,
Sorry you can't be there. Ted will no doubt correct me if I am wrong but I believe it is the best ever Historic Formula Two grid.
Hope you will be fit for the first Martini Trophy race next month.

I'll be lugging my entire camera kit with me and will be happy to photograph any particular cars if requested. I don't have accreditation but was quite pleased with my results last time. The thing about debris fencing is that if your lens is long enough and you can get close(ish) to the fence, the camera won't see it.

Shots like this can be taken through the fencing at the chicane. Last time I was there :-

I'm sorry too Chris. It's a really baffling injury because it arrives so predictably in April, regardless of the weather and regardless of what I get up to. I'm hoping to be fit again in a couple of weeks and would be gutted if I missed Silverstone.

Er, right on Keith! I presume that means that you got your tickets? That's the first communication anyone appears to have had with the organisers!
Facebook tells me that you are rolling out of Halifax today to make it to Donington for lunchtime tomorrow? I'd think about changing your car if I was you mate!

Tony....have already said what I need to elsewhere :drunk: !!! Nice one mate  . Once my Autobahn munching 35 foot long Merc and `van combo  get up to cruising speed I will be there sooner rather than later :smoking: !!
BTW - popped in to the circuit office on the 10th March and sorted tickets out. Have confirmed by e-mail this afternoon that I can pick them up on arrival. Also, I have read that anyone buying a weekend ticket (£30) will get a bogof into the collection  . So....Friday I will be visiting the collection

Ted and TNFers
I will be there Friday to Sunday with my red-and-blue Alfa GTA, race number 84, in the U2TC race, sharing with James Wiseman (and later in the pre-63 sharing James's Alfa Sprint Zagato - lovely-looking car !).

Happy to welcome any TNFer walking by ....

Great grids and a good initial start for this meeting.

Helped set Ted up this morning in dull and chilly conditions after spending the night camped next door to the circuit at the Donington Park Hotel. Major panic at 4am when we awoke with a duck in the tent I kid you not! After knocking the milk over and making a rather unpleasant mess in it's shock at meeting Mr & Mrs Giraffe, it left in something of a hurry as soon as we ushered it to the door!
We could have done with a drop of rain to keep the circuit dust down, but all we got was the odd shower in the night.
Since this morning it's brighted up considerably and I sit here in my tent typing this post at a very sunny Donington Park ready to light the bbq with TNFer & fundraiser Pink Snail & his family & entourage camped next door. Weather's on the up and facilities and the general state of the circuit have improved considerably since recent visits.

A good meeting in prospect!

A car that you won't see at the meeting this weekend but that was out testing at Donington yesterday was this Benetton B190 - #4. I was told that it won 2 GPs in the hands of Nelson Piquet and took him to third place in the World Championship but I have yet to verify that info. The current owner does no intend racing it and just uses it as his trackday car.

Hoping to bump into some TNFers tomorrow at DP.

Is the Redgate pub still operating, or was it demolished as was threatened at some point?

Just returned from a fabulous day at Donington. Looked like a pretty respectable-sized crowd, fabulous entries and some great racing - and the sun shone all day. Roger Clark and I walked all round the circuit and I thought it looked pretty tidy after all of the recent gloomy reports. Kevin and his team look as though they have been pretty busy.

Sadly, Tony, the Redgate pub is no more. Hope to post a few snaps shortly.

Brilliant weather today. Had to bail out just after the F2 race, but should be there until the very end tomorrow.

Only complaint I have is the lack of (decent) track-side commentary.

I'd heard that the whole Redgate Lodge building cad been carefully "disassembled" and was due to be rebuilt as close as possible to its original location.

The moment today when Martin Stretton under pressure from Matthew Watts relinquished his lead with an off at the Fogarty Esses that lead to his retirement. Watts went on to win today's Historic Formula 2 race in some style.

All I can say is the race was red flagged with nine minutes to go and Sytner was excluded from results after lying second. It seems he went straight on into tyre wall which caused the red flag but not sure where and was taken to hospital.

Frank certainly had the bit between his teeth shortly before the incident that led to him leaving the circuit by ambulance.
