I have stumbled onto a Lotus 32 formula 2 basket case. The current owner tells me there is no visable chassis plate that he can see. I plan to look at the car next week. Is there a particular location the plate "should" be or could there be any numbers stamped on the tub, if so, where??

I'm not sure about 32s but, assuming they're like the other similar tubs, there might well be a tub number (which is not the same as the chassis number, but would be recorded with the chassis number in the build records) which would be stamped somewhere under the seat cover (e.g. in the floor or on the rear bulkhead).

Other possible locations for a number would tend to be on the middle bulkhead (e.g. under the driver's knees) or on the rear top damper mounting - but not very likely.

Chassis plate would have been on the inside of the tub about where the driver's hips would be.
