I have finally digitalised a very short film clip of the unveiling of the Bugatti Gate at Prescott in 1949. The clip starts with shots of some of the cars testing on the hill. As well as a few pre-war sports cars there are several shots of Derek Buckler's prototype Buckler 1172cc car, with Derek and I think, Bob Drew, driving.
If anyone has a list of entrants for this test day I would be interested. Also, if anyone has heard of Bob Drew, once living at Mattingly in Berks or his family. He was one time works manager at Bucklers and later emigrated to Australia, never to be heard of since and there was rumour of a drowning accident.

Sydney Allard and the Steyr-Allard are featured midway through. It looks like it may be a practice day for an event rather than a test day.

They would have had numbers if it had been an event practice.
I have now had a very careful look in slow motion and only the Bugatti appears to have a number but it may just be a white roundel ( impossible to tell ).
