He was joking. But his comment is very silly, like his race.
Is that racist comment by you?;)

I just want to read in the papers and news about the racin or at least F1 related disputes. I don't want to read this headline's about racism in Formula 1.

Am pretty sure he was talking about his race today at Monaco.

Judging by the massive responses and multiple threads I would guess that he is right with his comment.
He had a horible race and he plays the victim card with FIA and the other drivers.
He blamed FIA, Schumi, Toro Rosso, Massa in the last week although it was all his fault.
Maybe he should just grow up.

What's funny about racism? FIA has done a whole campaign to beat the crap out of those silly fans who lambasted him in Spain. It's not funny at all, even if put as a joke.
This
Racism is no joking matter, and the FIA must take this seriously if they are lamenting the racism campaign. A fine at max.

He does need to mature and stop thinking about his "worldwide persona" and concentrate on what makes him probably the naturally fastest guy out there.
All he's done is allow the clearly racist people out there to claim "oh we're just joking around, just like you were when interviewed at monaco".

The Ali G thing might have been a joke but it was really stupid and journalists are going to pick up on it and print it as if he meant it.
Also there are about three threads on the same theme can these be merged please?
Looking at it objectively which I hope I can do.
1. Lewis is really pissed off.
2. He absolutley can't see anything wrong with his own driving (this may change when he reviews race)
3. As he can't see a reason (as he sees it) for punishment of his drive, he lashes out with a "I don't know, maybe its becasue I am black"...which he instantly regretted and so added the Ali G comment.
I keep thinking of an old phrase. "Many a true word said in jest". So I wonder if Lewis begins to believe it for real.

Luckily (?) his 2nd comment may have drowned out the 1st - where he very kindlt slagged off his fellow drivers.
Called them a friggin joke!

I dont care if he is black or white or yellow, he is a fantastic driver and he shouldnt be making shitty comments.
I don't care what he is doing and which comments he is making. He gains maximum possible result for McLaren, and I'm happy with that.

Hamilton is regularly being ridiculed with ape sounds and other racist stuff.
Let's not make a big hoopla about what was clearly a cynical remark in which he literally mentioned "Ali G".

Lewis drove like an idiot today, if he watches the replays he will get to understand this.
#46
Posted 29 May 2011 - 15:19
Still, playing the black-card, even just for fun, is just not on.That was a joke, he realised what he'd said just afterwards and immediately explained he was quoting Ali G. Nonetheless when he said he was being victimised by the stewards, he meant it.

Posted 29 May 2011 - 15:21
He's actually dead wrong. It was a stupid thing to say, end of story.Judging by the massive responses and multiple threads I would guess that he is right with his comment.

Do you think he would have said what he did if he wasn'tWould this issue be so big if Lewis wasn't black?
