The P3 Alfa photo must either have been taken before the war or after one of the Dubonnet-suspended versions came back to the UK
Doug Marr in the V8RI Maserati
Unmistakably Roddy Macpherson in the Cooper-Bristol
Presumably Ray Fielding's A6GCM/250

Photo 5:Stefan Johansson, Tyrrell 012 bottom of Paddock Hill Bend, Brands Hatch 1984. I dont think its during the race because he retired on the opening lap, so perhaps practice or warm -up session.

Are you suggesting I was taking pictures before the war? I thought we were friends! Some of your answers are correct, most actually, but you clearly don't know your Bob's from your Eric's

When was the bicycle sub-forum to be opened?
Adrian,
I think you will find that bicycles have figured on the forum before this, and anyway we do not want to be hide bound, stick-in-the-mud's now do we?
This is just a way to demonstrate the depth of my experience, and expertise.
Kindest possible regards,
bauble.

Not too sure who the wheel itself belongs to - could be from Boutsen, Ghinzani, Berg or Rothengatter, I think.
I suppose one would have had to be there to get it right but the wheel is from Lafitte.
Well done!

Laffite and Palmer were the two I would have discounted. The position of the wheel compared to where they crashed meant I didnt consider either of them.

Wrong venue, right idea. Yes Andy Wallace talking to the man who went on to win three GP's, not HHF but another driver who made it into F1 and had a very bad accident. Lesser know driver in between - think GEM.

It is in the old BRDC Suite at Silverstone, which was demolished at the end of 1998 to make way for the new BRDC Clubhouse, which opened in July 1999.

Is the crashing car Stefan Johansson again?
Yes. Thruxton Formula 2 championship circa 198?. Crashed out of lead if I remember correctly with rear suspension failure. The car hit the banking where a group of us photographers were situated, and we all jumped clear, however, this picture was far superior to the one Autosport published (JB?).
No where near David, you are much too young.

A few more for you to mull over. Let's face it, you would have to have served with Nelson to recognise some of Doug's pictures, at least with mine many of you would have been alive when these were taken.

The A6GCM/250 is the car later campaigned by Ray Fielding but the photo wa staken before his ownership as the Silverstone paddock was in its old form with the balcony above the pits. IIRC it was owned by Nobby Spero at that time.
The white car above it is the much modified Triumph powered Bond F3 of James Conyers.
The blue sports racer no. 9 I think is the Halseylec.

Top is Gerry Dunham's Alvis Special as campaigned by both his father and grandfather.
Middle yes it is Nick Mason in front of his Bugatti T35B but I can't name any of the others in the picture.
Bottom Neil Corner in BRM P25 leads Willie Green (Ferrari Dino) and Michael Bowler? (Lister Jaguar) and Patrick Lindsay in Remus.

Makes sense. It was the first Dubonnet-suspended car repatriated (circa 1968). Actually repatriated is not the right word, as it had not been UK-owned until thenGoing back to the first batch of photos the Alfa Tipo B is, I believe, that of Hon. Patrick Lindsay (5002 I think) shortly after it was repatriated from Australia.
I knew someone had it before Fielding but couldn't remember who...The A6GCM/250 is the car later campaigned by Ray Fielding but the photo was taken before his ownership as the Silverstone paddock was in its old form with the balcony above the pits. IIRC it was owned by Nobby Spero at that time.

The BRM is being driven by Robs Lamplough, and you can see he is giving a thumbs up as he rounds Copse in the lead, my photograph proved he had won a bet that netted him six bottles of Champagne.
Well spotted on the Bond, going extremely well on a soaking wet track at an end-od-season Silverstone meeting. And the HALSEYLEC CLIMAX, ex Eric Brandon, and named after his family firm's telegraphic address (alledgedly). I have never seen it since that meeting in the early 80's.
The F3000 Media bash at the BRDC Club House features Andy Wallace, talking to Johhny Herbert, then Gary Evans, Martin Donnelly, I can not say who the figure in red is. Being a complete amateur, I rarely catalogued my efforts and these are random samples pulled from a box with only a fading memory to rely on for ID. Does the chap in red look a bit brawny for Gachot?
Yes TW it was the Spirit Honda. I don't recall who drove the Maserati, but that is Our Eric wishing it was him.
As to Lafitte and the wheel, I have no record but I have always thought of it as Jacque's But when these things happen right in front of you, you tend to have other priorities.
Now you must admit this is much easier than DCN's brain wrackers.

I well remember this affair, as we, the Media, were informed that Bernie Ecclestone was attending a meeting at the circuit, and sent down his regards! Now wasn't that nice of him?

Indeed it is the Dunham Alvis it won the first motor race I ever saw in the IoM 1951, Nick Mason is pretty easy to identify, but who is 50th Birthday Boy sitting next to him?

Dear Mr. Dunsdon,
Be advised that the pictures thus far published show only the less sleazy aspects of your character, you must be aware that RBMApics holds a vast archive of photographs many of which, have never been seen on any public forum. I have a very good friend a Weekeeleaks willing to pay a substantial sum for the rights to the pictures.
You would not want the family to see these candid snaps.
So watch it Mush!

Did it go to England with the Corvette engine installed?
Or did it survive that journey as it had the war and the rest of the forties... as the 'Nomotore Alfa'?

Venues are I believe, Castle Combe, Silverstone, and (sorry Adrian) a bicycle race. If you can name the event I'll be staggered, but the venue should be familiar.
Some of these will be easy meat for many, but why not let the youngsters have a go at those first?
PLEASE NOTE; NONE OF THESE PICTURES CONTAIN TRACES OF ERIC DUNSDON., although he may have been in the vicinity when they were taken.

Alfa 158/9 at Silverstone around 1990 think it was demonstrated then
