BTW: is the person with the beard Adrian Newey?
Well, he was with the team in 1980.

Maybe the car in the museum is the one crashed in Montreal... Despite the weird front wing looks ok... It would be great if sum goes there and looks for an ID in the cockpit...
I did just that a couple of years ago and all I found out was the gold sticker on the inside of the body work above the steering wheel, see post 38 of this thread, says Marchant & Cox who I believe did the Hesketh bodywork back in the day.
The lighting at Brooklands where they kept (keep ?) the Wolf was terrible but I found the rear wing mounting quite interesting.

Well, i did wrote Brooklands Museum and they came back saying "the owner says it is the WR7 car"... It is not enough for me. I wrote Mr. Divila but no reply yet.. TBH, if tub is WR9, car is not quite important

Apologies I've just seen your post with the Brooklands response, I'm obviously a bit behind the 'curve'

Guys,
Ricardo Divila confirmed me that the car is an early F8
Which one do you mean?
The one in the photo in the Brands Hatch pits, the monocoque for sale from South Africa or the Brooklands Wolf?

South Africa... Brooklands is defo a Wolf / F7

South Africa... Brooklands is defo a Wolf / F7
So early F8 means that it is from 1980 so it must be F8-1 or F8-2.
Regarding the fact that F8-1 has different cut out sections for the front rocker arms it must be F8-2
Well...something tells me it might be not that easy though.
Why? Looking at the Brands Hatch picture from 1980, the car is clearly not F8-1 but it´s also different to the South Africa tub...but according to Allen Brown there were only two F8 built in 1980.
To make matters worse there are two F8 cars in museums in Turkey and Germany, both in 1980 colours. That doesn´t necessarily mean that they were built in 1980 but who knows...
These F8 whereabouts are currently known to me:
- F8 in a museum in Istanbul/Turkey
- F8 in a museum in Sinsheim/Germany
- F8 in a museum In Spa Francorchamps/Belgium (and raced in historic events) probably F8-C3 (EDIT!!! F8-C4 see post no.61)
- F8 tub in South Africa (according to Riccardo Divila)
I´m sure Allen Brown can add some more to the list

Well. I wrote to Divila if its possible that a show car was made with the wrecked tub of the F7 Emerson crashed in Interlagos practices...
I believe that the showcar in SA was a static car and not a running one, just a shell... if he confirms that, maybe it really is an F7/8

According to this picture here

the car in the Spa Francorchamps museum is F8-C4
