Does anyone by any chance have the competition number used by John Romanes Lotus 23 during the Sports Car Race in the 1963 BRDC Daily Express International Trophy meeting at Silverstone over the weekend of the 11th & 12th May.
I have purchased a copy of that weeks Autosport but it does not list competition numbers in the result.
I own what is believed to be chassis 23B-S-84 and have been fortunate enough to have been invited to compete at this years Revival, and would like to use the cars original competition number
Many thanks in advance
Jim

Hello Jim,
I don't have this programme in stock at the moment but Pooks of Rothley do, trading on Ebay as 'Motoring Magpie'. I'm sure that they would have a quick look inside for you, although they may not be back in the office until Monday.

Good luck,
John
PS If you do want to contact them, their email address and telephone number appear at the end of the listing.

Remember, Jim, that the car may well have been #9 that weekend but the next time it raced it could well have been #109.
New numbers at every event in those distant days.
(1st prize for stating the bleedin' obvious!)

Thank you all very much.
Romanes only raced the car twice, the second time he had quite a big accident in it
Kindest regards
Jim
