I'm a bit baffled, any help to help restore my regular screen format would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Brian

You are not alone with this problems.I was going to edit that I no longer have any date stamp; only time - but the edit function is no longer working either.

As far as I can spot:
- no date anywhere
- no option to log out
- no option to view PM's
There's probably a lot of other stuff, on the page where I type out a new post now, there's a lot of unusual blank space.

How?You need to reinstall the Internet to version 2.0

How?
Just go to your Internet and 'check for updates' I think you're still running version 1.8 of the Internet...
If you don't have a 'check for updates' icon on your Internet then call your ISP (BT, Virgin Media etc) and ask them to send you Internet 2.0 on CD... even easier they might have a link on their website you can download the Internet from.

If you ask for Internet 2.0 they won't know what you're talking about. You need Web 2.0
Oh sorry, I'm not really with it this morning.
Yeah, as Ross says, you need to phone your ISP and ask for a Web 2.0 CD or, failing that, floppy disk.

Should be patched up now, apologies for the length of time it took but the amount of data involved means repairs are a slow process.

I presume I don't need whatever Web 2.0. is then? (never heard of it until mentioned above)
Oh, they were just taking a piss. You obviously can't download or install Web 2.0.

I had "fat fingers" and hit an unknown upper key at the very time that the screen changed and I was sure that this key stroke had sabotaged my system.

Seems to be an encoding problem affecting display?
Yes, there is but fixing it was going to cause several hours more downtime so duct tape is applied at the moment and we'll tidy this up when time allows.

But, hey, at least now I can choose to instantly "like" an article and share it with the world.

To be fair, Hack did say he'd applied duct tape to it ^. The encoding problem I mentioned hasn't been fixed yet and I've also noticed that some glitches in search which appeared and were previously fixed after the IP Board software was introduced have returned, so I suspect a lot of the customisation has been removed in order to make the damn thing run at all. What was once the fastest-loading, smoothest-operating site has now become slow and cumbersome. Whatever has been done to the software really isn't working well, at all. For me, it really does suck.

Think he's talking about the autosport.com website, rather than the forum itself.

Both, actually. With my initial post coming 6 days after Hack's, I thought "several hours more downtime" would've been finished by then. Guess not.Think he's talking about the autosport.com website, rather than the forum itself.

The site tends to be quietest when it's daytime in the middle of the Pacific, which is a rather unsocial hour in the UK.

Seems to be an encoding problem affecting display? ..... special letters like ü aren't displaying properly on the front page on TNF.

5 months down the line... any chance of a fix soon Hack?
User Bjørn Kjer can't log in to TNF because the ø is not recognised by the login screen
