Even in his new life as a sports fisherman, Lawrie tell me he can't avoid motor sports connections, two of his regular salmon fishing buddies when he's in the Highlands being the brother of Will Hoy, and Ross Brawn who Lawrie says is a fishing fanatic!

Two more laps & Lawrie reckons he'd have taken Frank Gardner's Boss Mustang for second place.
The Gerry Edmonds Racing Escort was powered by a BRM twin-cam, hence the Yardley-BRM sticker. After this race, Lawrie tells me he went back to Bourne and met Raymond Mays whilst having a seat fitting in a P153 with a view to a test, something that due to other events never took place.......
