I am trying to locate and make contact with saloon car racer Lawrie Hickman and hope that the forum can help me with this. I had heard from a non-forum member that he is still about in the West Midlands. I would appreciate any help you can give me with finding him, gentlemen. :cat:

1970 British GP meeting, Brands Hatch. Not enough though to obtain BRDC membership for Lawrie.

I understand the fishing in Bridgnorth is awful since a gang of cormorants took up local residence.

I remember well, Lawrie's fabulous drive in the 2 hour ETC race at Brands in 1969 ( ? ) he was driving the 1 litre Escort ( Greek spec ! ) and was leading when the battery kept going flat and had to be renewed, he was the class of the field that day, but eventually finished 2nd or 3rd I believe. I also remember his drive in the GP supporting race that Tony has posted the results for, a star studded entry and a great result too.

Even in his new life as a sports fisherman, Lawrie tell me he can't avoid motor sports connections, two of his regular salmon fishing buddies when he's in the Highlands being the brother of Will Hoy, and Ross Brawn who Lawrie says is a fishing fanatic!

Two more laps & Lawrie reckons he'd have taken Frank Gardner's Boss Mustang for second place.

The Gerry Edmonds Racing Escort was powered by a BRM twin-cam, hence the Yardley-BRM sticker. After this race, Lawrie tells me he went back to Bourne and met Raymond Mays whilst having a seat fitting in a P153 with a view to a test, something that due to other events never took place.......

That's Vince Woodman in the Esso Capri, Tony. Gerry Marshall drove the Triplex Capri in '78.
