Does anyone else remember it?

The man to the right of Gould is clearly auditioning for a part in a Gilbert & Sullivan opera...

Man in uniform of honor is probably from the Milano Municipal Police whose jurisdiction also was Monza. Paddock/doors looks like Monza too. Van is an Supercortemaggiore/Agip petrol/oil van.
Unless other can come up with anything else or perhaps why ? ...........Oh , the year is 1957 I have been told.

8-11 inclusive are the 1933 Avusrennen 1500cc race. The white car is Kohlrausch's Austin and the streamliner is Horton's MG.

The number on the Maserati 8C in #7 matches Dreyfus' V5 at Avus in 1932. But that looks like the NÃŒrburgring Fahrerlager weighbridge to me.

1, 3, 4, 5 - assuming they're all the same van, the car being Earl Howe's Delage, again Avus 1933.

99% sure its Earl Howes Commer van , I was just looking into it and found in 1933 he had no.3 ! But in 1932 he had no. ! So I 'll conclude its Howes van but 1932 ! (?).

Thanks Vitesse2.

Looking at it again, I think picture 1 is indeed 1932. But if you look carefully at 4 and 5, you'll see the Delage is numbered 7 in those - which it carried in 1933. Where did you get the idea it was number 3? http://www.formula2.net/V1933-03.htm

I'm pretty sure No12 is a Cooper-Borgward, can't see the nose, would it have been Yeoman Credit? Is it Silverstone?

Photo 6 was taken in the Reims-Gueux paddock while photo 12 looks like the Silverstone paddock from the pits in the background, though Snetterton or Zandvoort might be alternative possibilities. Check the race number for verification - it looks like a BRP Cooper-Borgward, 1959. Other shots definitely AVUS as already identified, and Howe's pioneering transporter as identified. I believe that is the AVUS weighbridge, not the Nurburgring's, while Pic 14 looks Reims-ish from the bright light but might from the 'Nord' lettering have in fact been taken at Montlhery...

It seems to be the right colour (and number) to be Ronnie Moore's F2 Cooper T43 at Rhiems in 1957

Not sure if it was Kiwi Equipe that year or the Kiwi Stable

And the Moore/Thackwell outfit of 1957 and 1958 had absolutely no connection with the 1960 NZIGP team except that both used black and silver Coopers and NZ drivers

Number 17 is Peter Whitehead's Maserati 300S at the 1956 May Silverstone and number 18 is the works D type for Mike Hawthorn that he drove in the 1955 British GP sports car support race at Aintree.

PDD76 was Mike Macdowel's 1172 Ford-engined Lotus VIII, later raced by John Anstice-Brown

I would think the F2 Cooper in the photo 22 is Tony Marsh's T43

And pic 15 Duncan Hamilton's Maserati 6CM

Think 19 may be at Monza if it's any help. Guess based on the AGIP sign by the gate

Thanks for all contributions , 10% of my unidentifyed picture are now in the clear. But I find it better to end it here!

Please Ted Walker , as owner of 17 , perhaps you would be kind enough to help with the name or letters on the transporter in the top right of your picture .

See Post 21 :)

As I said that is a photo taken by myself at Brands Hatch on May 29, 1955. The MkIX's fins are a different shape to a Mark XIII, and the air intakes in the nose are different. I have a Lotus sales leaflet to check against. The engine was a Ford 1172 cc.

I now remember sending this as one of a number of pictures to Bjorn that showed transporters. Sorry for any embarassment'

My apologies - another check shows I have it listed as a IX
(I was thinking VIII for the little one and IX for the bigger version, but of course the Bristols were Xs...)

Photo 19 shows the Maserati 450S the factory intented Behra to race at the 1957 "Race of two worlds" at Monza. The car did not start due to a broken transmission. See Oosthoek & Bollée "Maserati 450S" book for a similar picture and all the details.

12: I doubt Zandvoort due to the soil, but...
13: Dutch license plate and looks also somewhere in Holland
19: Bertocchi with cap?

GZ means North-Holland.
I have a strong impression that it must be Eric Verkade, quite possibly his Maserati V4. I had GZ60975 in my notes for him, but a 3 and a 5 can easily be mixed up when reading from photographs.
