In your profile you elect to hide behind the cloak of anonymity so we have no idea who you are or how old, or perhaps more pertinently, young, you might be, so it might be better if you clear off back to your playground or home for the warped, unless you really do have a serious and relevant point to raise.

Except by the moderators. And you are right, there is no comment to work with, no apparent purpose to any of this at all.

He appears to be a 26-year-old from Portugal, Roger:With the greatest of respect, if this, represented by a highjacked 5 second clip, is the best you can propose for a meaningful thread I suggest that you remove it forthwith, especially since you do not raise any discussion points about the cause, nature or consequence of the crash, nor to the subsequent role or performance of his team mate in the races thereafter, to stimulate discussion, pertinent to the history of motor racing, the key purpose of this Forum, otherwise I shall ask the Moderator to do so.

@ Tiago: as Mr Lund has pointed out, members here do not take kindly to postings like yours. From bitter experience we have found that these usually cause "discussions" which degenerate into nothing more than pointless arguments and "flame bait", especially when they are related to a small number of drivers from recent times - Michael Schumacher being one of those.
Please don't take offence at these comments - we would like you to stay, read and learn about the history of the sport - but many of us are old enough to have witnessed the Jody Scheckter crash you linked to previously first hand, either in person or on live TV. By all means ask questions - we all learn something every day here, even "greybeards" like Mr Lund and myself - and contribute when you can.
Enjoy!

Back in 1999 Schumacher broke his legs after a violent crash in Silverstone.
At the risk of prolonging this misplaced and pointless thread, it wasn't "legs", but leg in the singular, a fairly simple fracture of one lower leg, rather less damage than Mark Webber did by falling of his bike. Although Ferrari later tried to excuse Schumacher by claiming to find some kind of brake problem, I watched it happen, and I've always been convinced that MS was annoyed that Irvine had jumped him at the start, and simply went into Stowe at too high a speed in an attempt to put the underling in his place.

The 1999 race was like the good old days of the British GP, with plenty of drama and a few surprises. One or both of the BARs were left on the grid. I think Hakkinen and Schumacher were expected to fight at the front but, with the Ferrari crashing and Mika's wheel falling off, that never happened. Instead we were served up a good scrap between David Coulthard and Eddie Irvine. It was very hot too I remember. Damon Hill picked up a couple of points and John Prescott, ever the suave sophisticate, was on the podium presenting trophies.

I was on holiday in Rhodes at the time and so we went to a bar with a TV so I could watch the race. As soon as it became clear Schumacher wasn't going to take the restart, the bar emptied considerably, presumably the German holidaymakers. A rather pointless personal experience of the event.

Yes - but nowehere to sit and eat them, all the deck chairs having now been taken... or... or..
... you're not the chap with the bouncing towel, are you?

I will never take them as an offence. I was just sharing. I know some people will like and some other won't. I like motorsports and that's the point. That's why I'm here

I was working at Silverstone that year, we were experimenting getting telemetry for broadcast use, I happened to be watching MSC's telemetry as it happened, and to me, it looked like he got caught napping. Late-ish on the throttle off the grid, bit erratic thereafter, and just plain out of place and late when he went off, a touch of red mist me thinks!

Good to have some insight on that
