Some interesting stories about him?
Some funny stories about him?
Some quotes about him?
Some quotes by him?
Some tries to explain his character?
How was he?

Maybe some answers to your questions could be found in the very good book:

Jose Froilan Gonzales the Pampas bull.

Great photos by Klemm!!

Certainly not a high profile guy. Stood in the shadow of his great fellow country man.
Good spirit and humor. Strong and fair sportsman.

Still driving his car as he used to:

This BB has a very useful 'Search' function, which comes up with:

Froilan Gonzalez

Froilan Gonzalez, Silverstone 1951 - what car?

J. F. Gonzalez - any news?

and some recent news:

All right. Froilan said to us with a smile: "I am running now on electrics, my engine has been left with little petrol". He is too old now to go to Europe to celebrate the 60º anniversary of the Alfetta's defeat.

Yes, he said they all were amateurs in their period.
And he should also drive his winning Ferrari in Silverstone this weekend, but was not there. So Alonso did it.

You would have had more success if you searched simply for Gonzalez under thread titles. Adding his forenames would make it just a bit too specific.

Okay.

Has someone more details about the racing career of his uncle Julio Perez?

When he turned up at Goodwood years ago, wearing his famous perforated skid-lid, I can recall how moved he was that so many people knew who he was, let alone wanted his autograph. It was great...

Yes, he saw it... and was thrilled by the view. In an hour (21:00 BsAs time) he will be the center of a conmemoration at the Automovil Club Argentino headquarters.

Gonzalez wearing his famous drilled crash helmet in Tom Wheatcroft's BRM V16 at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. This is the replica car whose original engine he managed to cook beyond salvage at a subsequent Silverstone Classic meeting. I took great pleasure during this Festival event in making the announcement to the expectant paddock - "Ladies and Gentlemen, Mr Froilan Gonzalez will not be appearing in the BRM V16 until this morning's second batch since he is presently still enjoying breakfast in the House..."

Probably with this actual helmet during his later career in Argentine FL racing and when he drove Ferrari at BA in 1960. Tropical spec, like a Vokes filter...

The 90th Birthday of Froilán was remembered at this weekend Autoclasica exhibition. Of course, in the ACA HQ it was an honorary supper for his anniversary.
