I worry a bit that they have that listed under 'Facts', showing the winning car from 1965 as a Cortina GT5000!

As David says, the correct answer is 1966, not 1964.

Well done Tim

It ain't over till the fat lady McPhail sings - there could be multiple points for some answers.

I thought there might be two points on offer for questions 8 and 16. Certainly I'd have gone for David in Q8 - there were 32 DNFs and two DSQs, so as the question specifically referred to DNFs I'd give it to David.

Hear hear. This was a good one, and a damn close-run thing (to misquote the old Duke). Thanks, Ron, for your noble efforts.

We've got a stack of trees around here, Ron...

They drop dead branches, I burn them, there's carbon dioxide produced and then the trees take a deep breath of it and say 'Thank you!'

As attractive as that might seem, Ron, my wife vetoed the idea...

The 2700 acres will go through Easter wanting for the patter of motor racing feet. The indigenous wildlife, roodles and King Parrots, won't mind, I guess, and the rabbits might be grateful, but I really feel for all the blokes who could have gone on to experience the true beauty of this place.

And only 30kms from Morgan Park... and in the same street!

It's a bit late now but I think that the answer to Question 17 isn't "theodolite" any more. It could be "distomat" an electronic distance measuring device

But the best answer is "Total Station" which is defined as "A combined theodolite and distomat"

(From a nearly retired civil engineer who can remember using an open vernier theodolite and a dumpy level with a staff in imperial units)

But they still use theodolites in some parts of the world - including some former colonies ;)
