I thought it just looked like corrosion on that engine. Either way, I want it
Edit: In case you haven't seen it, Jenson & Lewis take a look around. This was released a few months ago I think http://mclaren.com/p...ast-and-present

We are frequently told that the McLaren Technology Centre is more like a hospital operating theatre than a factory - but that floor in the first photo looks decidedly old school!I guess this is probably the right place to put this..

Well, I don't think this is at MTC - it looks like an older style industrial unit somewhere. I wonder where? We are frequently told that the McLaren Technology Centre is more like a hospital operating theatre than a factory - but that floor in the first photo looks decidedly old school!

My word, that is amazing...there's a few bob in there..
One hell of a hole in that DFV - a rod looking for daylight, I presume??

and not a Marlboro logo in sight.
In the 2nd issue of Autovisie (NL) in 2012, there is an article about a visit to this site. Text: Ben Oliver, Photography: Darren Heath !!. Almost all the pictures with that article are the same as the ones I find on the McLaren website today, BUT, the Marlboro logos and some other logos have not been photoshopped out. Weird.

I think the condition of that DFV would be due to the fire extinguiser chemicals ...

I went around a similar smaller place Steve when they used a unit behind the main building on Albert Drive. Maverick was then in the back of the adjacent TAG Electronics building along with a car dancing through a programme on a 4 post rig. Chap who showed me, realised he'd forgotten the Speed car was there & made a request to "please forget what you've just seen"I think I know where, and if it is where I thiink it is, it was taken on when West didn't like all the Marlboro cars in the lobby at Woking. Maverick should be in there somewhere as well.

Once seen, never forgotten!!! I saw it as they wheeled out Mansell's MP4/10 for it's crash test, and seemed ignorant of the fact as we filmed them going out, it was in the background, though they got jumpy when I walked over to take a look. I always thought it looked more substanstial than just a mock up.I went around a similar smaller place Steve when they used a unit behind the main building on Albert Drive. There is apparently another bigger unit outside Southampton filled to the rafters, and I'd bet, a few other units dotted about!
