I'm pleased to announce a new addition to the BritishRaceCar.com article collection.
Read it here:
Terry Buffum and the Don Parkinson Jaguar XK-120 Special
(55 photos and extensive write-up)
as The Parkinson Special appeared at Pebble Beach in 1952
as The Parkinson Special appeared last month at Pacific Raceways (Kent, Washington)
I'm very keen to hear any comments and remembrances of this very historic racecar!

Tom Cardin's photo from Willow Springs, early 1950s (with permission) :
The photographer didn't identify the Parkinson-like car, but others have suggested it is that.

The #3 car is Bill Stroppe's Kurtis-Mercury.
I don't know what the #11 car is, but it certainly ISN'T the Parkinson Special. Just compare it to the photos I posted previously. The Parkinson Special has had remarkably little body modification over it's sixty year lifespan.

This photo appears to be from Willow Springs, May 9, 1954. I believe the car in front is Bill Pickford in his Pickford Jaguar Special. He was listed as #113...you can't see the "3" in this photo. Here is another link for comparison:
