I am curious if any author has ever published a book on the definitive history of Formula Two? I am referring to the series that ended in 1984. I have been to the superb F2 Register website but I was looking for something that included race narratives along with results. I know autocourse provided an excellent end of year summary on F2. Are there any good websites out there that I am missing regarding formula two? Formula Two racing in the seventies is a fascinating subject, especially when mixing grand prix drivers with young hot shoes coming up through the ranks.

Any info on Formula two would be greatly appreciated... Lets talk F2!!

-Cheers

A sadly neglected subject. The only book I know of - apart from Gregor Grant's on an earlier era - is "Drive It: The Complete Book of Formula 2 Racing" by Tristan Wood, published by Haynes in 1984.

A rather slim volume, which doesn't really live up to the claims made in the title. But when there's nothing else ... :well:

Jonathan worked at March during the 70's. Whole site/life is fascinating.

All F2 races including Japanese are covered in the Formula One Register books "A Record of Grand Prix & Voiturette Racing". For each race there is entry list, grid, full results and a race narative, typically about a third of a page for each race (no narative for Japanese races).

Thanks for the info guys.. Looks like some good stuff...

Agreed F2 has been a neglected subject... It is hard to even find a video or two on you tube regarding F2. Formula Two, Interseries and some of those 2-litre sportscar championships offered some of the most entertaining racing in the 1970's Would be nice if those series were revered like the Can-Am and Formula 5000 series are today.

-Thanks guys.. anybody have any F2 videos from you tube?

Grimeheel thanks for the link to Jonathan Greaves!

I was lucky enough to visit GRD on a visit to England from the States in the day. I even had a nice chat with Roger Williamson at Earls Court at the race car show.
