Could anyone guide me to twinned photos of both the Cunningham team Knobbly Listers competing in the same event during the 1958-59 seasons? I seem to be finding shots of one of the cars at each of the races quite easily, but NOT the sister cars together... Any help would be much appreciated.

Does the Mike Argetsinger book on Walt Hansgen mention them together?

There's a lot of detail like that in Mike's books...

Doug, page 12 of my 1999 book, Road America, Five Decades of Racing at Elkhart Lake, has a photo of Hansgen and Crawford exiting corner 12.

Doug, my reply related to the possibility of learning which meetings drew both of them to help you in your search...

Though with it being so long ago it might still be difficult to source something.

Briggs Cunningham entered two Listers in almost all the SCCA Nationals in 1958. Walt Hansgen drove one, with Ed Crawford in the second. They won most of them, Hansgen nine or so, and Crawford two. Several one-two finishes.

Tom, what about the photo on page 39 of your other RA book, showing 3 white Cunningham cars on the transporter going home? 61 & 62 look like knobblies and 60 a Costin bodied car. Do they have to be actually on the circuit together, Doug?

Right, Roger, that was after the 1959 Road America 500. Briggs ran all three that day, with the 1958 Lister numbered 62 the winner driven by Walt Hansgen and Ed Crawford. The second '58 Lister was fourth, while the Costin '59 ran into difficulties and finished far back.

Doug, there was a US freelance snapper called Warren Ballard who covered the Cunningham effort. I don't know whether he is still with us, or who manages his archive, though. There is such a photographer listed on one or two websites, but whether it's the same chap, I don't know. He's liste on artwanted.com. Good luck!

Ron Nelson has posted a photo of both '58 Listers in turn five at Road America, the 1958 June Sprints.

According to my records, those are BHL 101 and 102. Hansgen and Crawford? All my stuff is in a packing case...

Hansgen and Crawford?

Yep. Walt was first, Ed second.
