With Frank Engstler, Yvan Muller and Gabriele Tarquini we have a 146-old-guys-podium at WTCC in Oschersleben. Were there podiums with older guys in international races?
I would imagine that Farina, Fagioli and Rosier might add up a bit!

It was not Muller but Alain Menu on the podium (and Muller is 6 years younger than Menu, so I guess you already meant Alain Menu). With Frank Engstler, Yvan Muller and Gabriele Tarquini we have a 146-old-guys-podium at WTCC in Oschersleben. Were there podiums with older guys in international races?

...an average of "only" 46
..but I guess the definition of "the podium" would also change from race to race. NASCAR still only seems to celebrate the winner, being the only one present on the podium (albeit with car and crew all around).

These days, many people use "the podium" as a term to describe finishing in the top three - analogous to "medal positions" in athletics whether medals are awarded or not. It's no worse than talking about a "front row" grid position when a GP hasn't had a true front row with the first two cars side by side for about 40 years...but I guess the definition of "the podium" would also change from race to race. . . a pedant, he say: and actually two is not really a row, the term hangs over from the days of real rows and 3/2/3/2 (or even 4/3/4/3/4 . . ) grids like the 1937 Eifelrennen start a photo of which hangs in front of me as I trype this. These days, many people use "the podium" as a term to describe finishing in the top three - analogous to "medal positions" in athletics whether medals are awarded or not. Does that mean the grid of the 1937 Eifelrennen inspires tripe?
