I had the pleasure of seeing your car earlier in the year either at Phillip Island or Eastern Creek and was delighted to send home a photo of the "Saggy Sarah" script via text message to my Wife Sarah who was getting back into shape after having our boy Curtis earlier in the year. It went down about as well as one would imagine.....
Yep I'll think twice next time.

See ya there

I hope it does not rain for you! I have been very wet at Winton. And that was before I fell into the mud before the old last turn flag point.I'm another starter, although a late entry, with the Gladiator, Group Lb Sports, parked in the open somewhere.

And that was before I fell into the mud before the old last turn flag point.
Was falling into the mud anything to do with motor racing, or after a few laps of bench racing later in the night?

Just got back from a fantastic days racing so I thought I post some shots.
Winton was cold and grey as usual but for a brief few moments in the morning I saw a giant orange disc in the sky that I thought my be the sun but being Benalla I can't be too sure.
Larry put on a great show in Saggy Sarah and was kind enough to treat us to some well executed pirouettes to get the crowd warmed up. Awesome stuff!

Roger Benjamin from Jindera or Table Top nr Albury in the Don Lapham-built( in Orange NSW) Vanguard Special sprinted and hillclimbed long ago by a doctor called Lionel Deithe (aka Dr Death). Roger and the Albury-based Riverina Sports Car Association people have resurrected the Riv Div logo, and I was duly presented with one today. I can send it to you if you wish, under the old flexible Riverina boundaries rule if you wish

I think I also was an honorary Riv Div member, so yes I would be proud to rejoin. Glad to hear the Nota was playing happily again.
Love the photos, as they are just about the era I became conscious that I was attending Motor Racing not just going out with Mum and Dad. Remember sitting in the stands at AIR supporting Steven Fraser as Mum worked for father DG, and as for anything bearing an 05 well

As for the parking special , well i broke the input shaft of the 'fragile ' M21 just coming on to the pit straight and coasted to a 1:56 and then into the pit paddock area.

I remember seeing the car at the Island in 09 and the warm reception she was getting.
There were Torana fanciers as far as the eye could see racing towards her undoing their flys.
I'm really impressed with how you've restored the car and I love the swirly patch that you left on the roof........nice touch.
I was hoping to catch up over the weekend but I missed you on the few occasions I popped up to the top garages but I'm sure I'll see you round the traps for a cuppa.
Cheers
Clarky
Here's the Sagster in 09 for all those who missed her.

Seeing Clark's pictures has worked well as a memory aid - thanks.
After getting a bit sick and tired of accidentally sabotaging our own team 's efforts, I spied a camera and thought I'd "get out of the kitchen" for a bit. Hope you find what I found pleasing.
A long way from home - could a car feel homesick?
I have to admit to some real affection for the Matich, a thing of beauty. Any day with a Matich A50( or is it A51?) in it is a good day.

Sorry MyMemoryFails but this is the only photo I could find of the old girl .
I do love your photos, especially the lawnmower at the end.
Heres a photo of the Homsick Lola having a go at trimming the lawn at Phillip Island.
I love this car and it shows up everywhere and always puts on a good show.

I always enjoy seeing the old girl. And your fine pic of the Lola Lawnmower.
This is a more orthodox surface underneath.
thanks again

Speedy27 thank you for posting the link to your photos on Fickr Your photos of the recent Historic Motor Fest are great. I was wondering if you or any other people get any photos of the awesome Porsche 962C that won the 1987 Le Mans 24-Hour race and the Porsche 935 Coupe that finished eighth at Le Mans in 1978 Nicknamed 'Moby Dick'
Regards Mouserat159
Thanks - it's great that they are being enjoyed. I didn't waste time taking any pics of the cars you mention at Winton, as I was not chuffed to read that they would be on track and then found them sitting at the back of the pits - apparently because their motorsport manager couldn't be there. I did get some pics of these iconic cars on and off track at the Phillip Island Classic earlier this year, such as :
935 - http://www.flickr.co...57626406256760/
962 - http://www.flickr.co...57626406256760/
And some more, including interior and static shots in the complete collection at this link : http://www.flickr.co...ith/5579994798/
Take care
