That is very sad. I was privledged to have won the trophy he donated a few years back. He told me that when he was racing his Humber 80 that it cost double a bank managers salary to run the car in the championship year.

He made his Consuls and especially the Humber 80 competitive with Mk2 Zephyrs, and doubtless paved the way for Humber 80s to almost take over saloon fields in the next few years

Thats sad news !,its been a bit of a bad week for loosing some of the people who contributed to our motor racing history
