the races that really stand out for me in this decade were these 2
the 1991 500 gp from donington in which i was able to see that cracker of a pass kevin schwantz did on wayne rainey at the melbourne loop.
the 97 bsb race from knockhill in which steve hislop [sacked by ben atkins on the red bull ducati] got one of ray stringers private kawasakis and finished second. i believe he this was the first time in the bsb that a privateer lapped a privateer.
also from that day scott smart on the 250 was very impressive. i have a lot of pics from that day but they are all pretty blurry
wayne rainey for me probably was the best short circuit rider i ever saw, the way he could throw a 500 around was something else and he wasnt afraid to get up someones nose either. i couldnt take it in for weeks after i had heard what had happened to him.
whats everyones opinion on big bang, i was not a fan of them at first as they sounded like flat farts, after they came in a lot of the lap records never went till many years later. when dorna got rid of the coulored backgrounds from the bikes i was very dissapointed and it still catches your eye today when you a see a machine today with correct class plates on.

Well, i was way off with that, i saw bradl on yellow bike no 4 and thought no 32 was Mackenzie on a private Yamaha wearing his Docshop leathers and his Slick 50 coloured helmet, OH DEAR .

jamie was on the docshop bike that year im sure, before he got that pig from them that mackenzie had used in the 95 gps, i dont who who was really behind that bike but ive heard stories of jets falling out and the thing seizing while warming up on the stand.
chris walker should be in that grid aswell, sure he was on a padgetts rs in 95 or was it 96.

The early 90s were for me the best ever for the 500s, they were razor sharp and with up to 6 guys in with a genuine rostrum chance it says a lot for the skills of Rainey and Doohan that they so consistently top 3 in that era .
The highlights for me were Japan 1991, 93 and 94 .
And Hislop and Fogarty at the TT .

what a cracking picture
dont think you could get more tucked in than that
ive been watching a few rounds of the 90/91 season and it leaves you breathless sometimes, i feel though that the gps from 89 to 93 are very dilluted which is why a lot of people dont talk about them.
every rider in moto gp now was a big fan of rainey,doohan,schw.......
i got the chance to sit on rocket rons norton at a british championship meeting in 91 which was nice
