Hi people; can anyone tell me what the circular decals are on the bodywork of Stirling's car in this pic? I thought it may be some sort of Cuba/Havana motor club, but nothing has shown on my searches that looks like it when I type in those sort of descriptors. Looks like a pair of gold wings surrounding a blue disk with something white in the middle. Need any advice for a modelling project.

The car was a camoradi entry - could there be a connection?

It's the logo for the Havana Motorcycle Police squad (?) the white area is the image of a police motorcycle, probably a Harley-Davidson but it could be just a generic or other brand.
I'm familiar with building some of those cars. The only place I could obtain the correct wall size size metric tubing Maseratti used for them was in Germany. Apparently it's a size tube still used in certain hi end bicycles.
Interestingly the factory blue print specifies 'kromo tube'. I asked Mario Andretti if 'kromo' means chrome-molly in Italian, answer yes. Well I cut various tubes out of a Maserati Birdcage and had a certified aircraft metallurgist analyze them for the C content. Result was there wasn't any C. So much for them actually being chrome-molly.
From reading the posts about the recent replica Maserati Birdcage auction I see there are some Maserati experts that inspected that particular birdcage. I'd be interested to know what the experts can tell us regarding the actual materials Maserati used?
I think there's a model of a bare Birdcage chassis available from a company in Japan that was based on that particular chassis. I know that the current owner did all the research for those decals himself. He showed me the prototype chassis model a few years ago.

Sorry, but could you please write the name Maserati with only one "t"?. Thank you.

Sorry fixed, used to using two Ts from spelling Andretti way more than Maserati.
Here's an image I took of the tank cover after Shelby and Moss signed it. I'm not sure if it still has this cover on it or not. The owner was thinking about preserving this one. I would too.
