Probably just the way he was quoted but you would think Ferrari were the worst team in the world ever acording to his quotes in the article.


He wasn't the first or last driver to make such assertions either.

Prost told the team the Ferrari (I think 641/642) drove like a "truck" and that was it for him.

From what I read years ago on Enzo and Ferrari in general, it was often hard for drivers to communicate with management because from the top down it was often said that it's the driver that makes the car slow - never, ever the car itself.

I think that sort of attitude - that the Ferrari could never be the root of the problem, is what cause the team to fail in the 80's.

I was always a fan of Stefan and thought him unlucky not to have had more success in F1 - especially that 2nd race for Ferrari at San Marino - 2 laps to go and the hand almost on the trophy - out of juice! Cruel sport sometimes. Shot from Adelaide 1985 attached.
