I have come across this Italian newsreel from 1957:-

At the 1 minute 34 second mark there is coverage of an event at which racing drivers past and present attended. Do any of our Italian speakers know what this event was about?

Well, I'm not an Italian speaker, but here's a couple of press reports of it from La Stampa: preview -

Report -

Note also the anguished article about the Vanwall victory at Monza and the "crisis of the Italian manufacturers".

[For some reason I can’t open the press reports of La Stampa]

Must be because they were search results - plus it's a fairly complicated search process. I've downloaded the pages as PDFs, so if anybody would like them, PM me your email address. :)

I think they've recently revamped the site: pretty sure it used to use Flash. However, the video file extensions are .xaml, which I think can only be played on Silverlight as they're created via .NET Framework.

Vitesse, thank you. I remember that years ago 'normal' programs were sufficient...

I'm not 'overwhelmed' when I have to install new MS programs. So sometimes I actively 'miss' some content...

The ACM (Monaco-site) uses Silverlight for their Ticket-order-page,--I refused and sent a fax...

Best regards Michael

I don't read Italian but I know a bit about this event. It was held at the Casino de la Vallee in Saint Vincent. The trophies were awarded by Tazio Nuvolari's widow. I have seen a photo album of this event with photos of Musso, Collins, and some of the retired drivers.
