First I've heard about a 13 part F1 series, I suspect its a nostalgia series, hence why I've placed it here. Anyone over here heard more about it?

There is no mention of this on the BBC web page. I do enjoy Mr Brookers work but think that this is his humour at play. BBC4 do not make 13 part series about any subject least of all F1 and if they did would certainly play it with a straight bat rather than the shall we say alternative viewpoint of the aforementioned Charlie Brooker.

Having said all that I think a 30 min programme on his views of contemporary formula one would be well worth a watch!

Bearing in mind that it is widely believed that the BBC made its Faustian bargain with Sky & Bernie in order to avoid having to axe BBC4, I suspect this is Mr Brooker's version of satire.

I watch far more BBC4 compared to F1 so I'm happy.

I'd happily ditch BBC3 if it meant a full season of F1. Most of its output is absolutely dire.

Exactly althoughj not the best presenter of BP she did add an exotic ingrediant to the show.

BBC3 and BBC4 have to share transponders on the Astra satellites with CBeebies and CBBC, which broadcast during the day. Unlikely to change, as BBC are about to cut their total number of Astra transponders from six to five as part of costcutting on Red Button services.

I suppose they could theoretically run BBC3 and BBC4 on Freeview during the day, but that would probably be uneconomic - added to which much of their output (especially BBC3) is "post-watershed" only. And as BBC don't even seem to be able to find anything halfway sensible to put out on BBC2 during the day they'd presumably struggle even more to fill that airtime.

I can remember when there was only one TV channel and it shut down 6-7pm so families could put the kids to bed! When ITV started they filled this slot with an ad.mag.
However I recall the BBC covered more non F1WC racing than they do now.
