Dane , Christian Bakkerud was killed today in a car accident , rolling his Audi it is said. He was only 26 years . Much too young !

In fact the accident happened on Saturday. He died on Sunday (11 September).

That's awful news. I used to play tennis with his mother, Marianne and watched him progress through Karting to single seaters. If it wasn't for the persistent back problems he suffered he would have got further in his single seater career. He always seemed to be a really nice guy.

Very sad...

Only just back today, but I saw the news last week. Terrible news, but such a shame that he left and survived the sport, and was just starting a new life away from racing, ironic really.
The first GP2 driver to die, let's hope the second is a long time in coming.

With respect Richie, he stopped racing because of back injuries incurred.
