Has the look of Mike Spence perhaps?

...or Cooper driver Chris Lawrence?

I’m looking for a picture from Clyde Dollar (he also raced under  pseudonym Johnnny Nova) in his ex von Trips Stanguellini Junior. He raced on October 16 1960 in the HMSC Rundstrecken at the Nürburgring, Südschleife (7th place) and on October 30 1960 at the Trierer Flugplatzrennen 6th place.

Can anyone help me with a picture ?

Someone polishing the rear clam of the Chaparral 2D. 1000 km race, 1966.

Just came to this thread by chance, was looking for something completely different and now I just cannot remember what it was...

Isn't it funny that the Texas plate by chance bears the number of one of the greatest sports cars that was about to step into the scene three years later? :cat:

Thanks to all of you who appreciate Harry's photos. I am continuously working on them, removing at least the worst scrapes and dots that the negatives show after all those years. So it takes a while to post them. Stay patient, please. :)

If I may, are you cleaning the scans in Photoshop? If so and you don't already know, duplicate the background layer and use the Dust & Scratches palette and try different settings. The trick is to find a balance between the settings and watch the white spots disappear... while not going so far as to affect the fine lines evident in tubular highlights and other thin contrasts such as graphics.

Many of my earliest B&Ws were processed by my also-teenaged cousin, and over thirty years later I was horrified by thousands of white spots in the negs. I lost hope until spending days working out a solution. You can also marquee around the worst areas to retouch those selectively from the rest.

You never want to do anything to the background layer (!). As digital tools improve, and ours as retouchers, so can the ability to further correct later, if desired.

Great thread, keep 'em coming!

Remarkable collection, thanks for sharing. Despite them being monochrome, it takes the odd beehive or facial hair photograph for them to really hit home with me.  :D

Of course. I had posted this picture of Mitter driving his Lotus 44 up to the pits several months ago and I am re-posting it here because of a better quality of the image.

[b]All the more reason for never getting involved with Facebook, as I never have, nor shall I ever (if that isn't too Irish!!) :stoned:

More importantly, and in common with everyone else, I find these shots absolutely magnificent. If I can see good b/w shots, I have no need of colour.

Seconded on both counts - especially where the desperately dangerous Facebook is concerned...

If you click on the 'little bent arrow' at the top R/H corner, it will take you there.
