What were the tobacco advertising rules in the UK in 85 ? I'm surprised Christian is wearing a Gauloises-less livery whereas Randy is carrying Rothmans... is this some of the traditional anti-french ( and pro-US ) british bias ?

edit : just kidding mates, of course .... :smoking:

Lovely photos, gents. Although I haven't many bike shots in my files, I will look to see whether any might not look too embarassing here..
PS Particularly like the 'atmosphere' shots.

OK, self-indulgence time....I've always been rather proud of this one. It's actually the very first pic I posted on the original Motorcycle Nostalgia thread back in 2005 or something......

Second-hand TZ, road leathers , scratched helmet... This is a young determined Patrick Igoa at Le Mans in March 1980 on what was probably his first race on a proper racing machine ( he had done the 125 Honda Cup the previous year, which in France used road-going CB 125 S3's and not MT125's like in Britain....) He would of course later go on to greater things ( multiple World Endurance Champion for Honda, and factory Sonauto Yamaha rider in the Grand Prix )

Re the Mallory hairpin pic.

Obviously number 30 is a McVeigh sponsored TZ (I can only remember Kevin Riley being sponsored by him, but I don't think that's him). I seem to recall 64 might be Dave Seidel?

Because it stops unscrupulous people lifting the photos & using them for their own profit.
Picblanc has been a victim of this many times. How would you feel if you went to a circuit and found guys selling your photos, or discovered them printed on a T Shirt ?

This has to be one of the silliest questions ever asked in this forum.

I am quite sure that the owners, if asked properly, will permit a "clear" print, and will be perfectly entitled to make a charge for this.

“Lov om opphavsrett til åndsverk m.v. (åndsverkloven)”. Other wise known as “ÅVL”

I hope this explains it.

I have a few out there, mostly taken by me as a kid, which to my delight are widely copied. I do feel a bit peeved though when I see them copyrighted and/or claimed as the work of someone else.

No Renn, Sheene had his RG in Suzuki blue in 1975, Newbold only had a TR500, in 1976 they were painted in Heron colours but by then they were the red/white colours.
