The Mallory hairpin photo: From the days when a World Champion turns up on a works GP Yamaha...

Great days eh! even Ago had to do these races for the start money on offer, a tidy sum back then no doubt!$$$$$$$

Mo/Chaps,

There's no way I can compete with the quality of the others, but I was really proud of this one, taken with a Halina Paulette Electric back in 1972, in the Junior 350 TT. Oh - I haven't ' put my stupid name on it' - feel free to copy - I somehow didn't see myself getting rich on the royalties!

What corner is this Ray? The Creg?

Just that Ago seems way off line.

Ronaldo,

It could easily be mistaken for the Creg - it's Signpost actually, taken from the bank on the exit - you can just see the fence on the inside at the top of the picture. I can quite correctly say "I remember when it was fields...." :rotfl:

Good work there Graham! Great photos from a great period  (I know I keep banging on about the seventies, but it was a time when a working-class kid like me, had a chance of mixing it with the big boys at National level due to the affordability of a secondhand TZ).

Bob Towse standing there reminds me a bit of Peter Laberchagne (however you spell it!).

Hi Graham I am not sure if our forum members are aware but Rodger Nott passed away a year or so ago, I had bumped in to him at an Aintree meeting a few years ago as he was wandering the paddock.

A great bloke and had some cracking rides in the 70's around the northern circuits and especially the Manx Grand Prix. Which he led the 1974 senior in trecherous weather before sliding off. Had some great chats with him about racing in the 70's.

I am sure Barry would have raced against him and other forum members. As is mentioned he was famous for the Maxton Yams etc.

Snetters, 71, Pickrell, Seeley, Croxford. I think I'm right in recalling that the 500 was up for sale at the end of that year at around 800 quid.

That reminds me of a story I was told some years ago about Parrish and the Makaha Skateboards sponsorship, if you remember Steve had an RG500 and TZ750, along with a nice big van in their colours for a season, but the person who told me the story asked me if I or anyone else I knew had ever actually seen a Makaha skateboard?

I dont know how true this is but allegedly the reason nobody ever saw a Makaha skateboard in the UK was that they went bust just hours after the cheque for the sponsorship deal was cleared!!

Edited to say, I just googled Makaha and they seem to exist this day, so either it was just the UK importer who went out of business or the story was wrong!!

John was certainly around then but I agree, Graham, it isn't him. When you last put it up, I think I questioned 'Frank Perris' and offered Bill Smith as an alternative. I'd probably had a few sherberts at the time, since it clearly isn't him. Still think it isn't Frank though. And as for Bazza....how sure are you?

Barry 100% Russell, he was injured so did not ride, I had never seen him race before, but remember him standing there, being a shy 14 year old I didn't like shoving the camera in their faces so this was only shot I got. :well:
As for Frank Perris not 100% but saw a pic of him recently somewhere & it reminded me of my picture here. But must admit it looks a lot like Bill Smith, he wasn't riding at this meeting but could be him?

Good Shot of John Williams, Graham.

Would this count as a contribution? :) A painting of Nori Haga on the Red Bull Yamaha at Suzuka - I think.

One of my favourite paintings that I have completed over the years. It was a commission and the guy was picking it up at Donington at a WSB round. A friend of mine got it signed so I told the guy when he picked it up that we had managed to get it signed in the morning and he asked how much more was it and I said the same price - no extra he was over the moon with it. We made a litho print of it but maybe because he has changed teams and bikes a lot since its not been a great seller. For some reason though I really like it..

I think Selwyn had retired by then Renn, but a couple of those guys look familiar to me, particularly the one in the green & white leathers with the Castrol sticker on the seat.
