Prompted by ReWind, I'm starting this thread to wish ace Team Elite, Sidney Taylor Racing and Team Ensign mechanic Ron Bennett a Very Happy 80th birthday! :wave:

I have just spoken to Ron and he is enjoying the day with his sons, one of whom works at Mercedes GP having engineered Schumacher, & now working on their exhibition team.

I'm sure Ron must have some amazing stories to tell. Perhaps Tony could persuade him to tell a few on here?

I have several hours of recordings from Ron that focus heavily on his Sid Taylor days, but I'm due to visit him again soon and want to hear about his incredible class victory and Index of Thermal Efficiency win at Le Mans in 1962 whilst engineering the Elites of Frank Gardner / David Hobbs, Don Wiley / Clive Hunt with Cyril Embrey.
