A friend would like to prepare one of his two Simca 1200S Coupes as racer in period/FIA correct specification.
He does not have any informations about he period modifications done at the time, what would be FIA-acceptable nowadays etc.

Any help or informations would be highly appreciated.

Also - if there are photos or informations about races, where 1200S have been used in period - please do point us in that direction.

Thank you in advance for any help or informations.

Hi, I suggest you try to find out what modifications were homologated for this car in period (I don't think you said what year it is from)
You my also find this link of interest

http://www.fia.com/m...istoric_qa.html

which speaks about a specifications database. Does anybody know if this exists yet? a quick search of the FIA website did not turn up anything.

Thank you Steve.
I have also posted elsewhere and did receive some infos regarding the homologation papers.
That should help.

But - if anybody has photos or results from this type from any race, we would be very thankful.
There are just some photos showing rallycars I found via Google, but nothing about circuit racing.
It is not on the Classic Le Mans list of eligible cars.....

Ralf

PS It is a ´68 car

Search in my site (see below) for "Simca 1200 S" (with quotes) and you'll find loads of results; espcially in Germany it was raced in GT under 1300 cc.

Willi Odermatt, Büderich / Düsseldorf, racing his Simca 1200 S, place and date unknown - most likely a german hillclimb, 1969, but he also did some circuit and airfield races thar year (Faßberg, Diepholz, Nürburgring, Wunstorf).
The number plate "DIN" points to Hans E. Böhm's shop at Dinslaken.
