This is basically a simple competition, let's see who can create the best F1 livery using this template:

( You can easily paint it even with Microsoft Paint )

Posted Image

You can submit up to two schemes

You can use any colour scheme you like

As long as it doesn't "ape" an already existing livery

You can use any sponsor you like

Don't change the design of the template

You can vote only if you submit a livery

YOU CAN SUBMIT YOUR LIVERIES UNTIL NOVEMBER 17th

I always wonder why there's no brown coloured racing cars btw. I can imagine brown is not cool for sports cars somehow, but still. Can anyone come up with nice brown colour livery? :p

brown looks black on TV, i guess? just like the HRTs last year - or were they supposed to be dark grey?

HRT wasn't even close to brown.

A few years ago the Porsche Juniors in Supercup and the German series were sponsored by UPS.

Based on an existing livery - I always liked the Saudi Arabian sponsors on the Williams. I'll do something more original shortly.

Well, that's more like Azzurri blue, from Italy :)

Couldn't get the exact colour, but surely Italian cars would run in Rosso Corsa?

Well, I was more referring to the football team. The French national team has a deeper blue colour, similar to what Prost used.

And there was a Ferrari once in that colour:

DanardiF1's rendition is pretty close to the traditional French racing blue. The Prost blue may have been similar to the French football team colors, but they were nowhere near what the Bugattis and most other French racing cars sported decades ago.

Another one I've come up with... on the theme of past names and national colours, I give you the revival of the early 1902 Gordon Bennett Cup winners: Napier.

Just wondering, what permissions does Andy Blackmore give for his templates? I am uneasy making a livery on a template that may not be permitted.

Additionally, it seems that you have saved that as a .jpg? Be warned, that causes major quality loss issues, and is hard to make a neat livery. Perhaps reupload as a .png? An example of the liveries I do for reference:
Ferrari F2002 by senamic
Imge url says .jpg because it is tinypic, but it is a .png file format.

Actually, the template is from here, and you can use it as long as you keep the Ten-Tenths and Andy Blackmore Design logo in place.

Another template free to use is here. Besides, here's the Team Lotus's livery competition livery.

I really fell for this one. I tried to put on some arrows to illustrator why. You have power forward and backward in a way that really seems to move the car. (The two lower arrows). Raw power! And you also have nice detail with the shapes extending on the chassis. (Upper arrow).

It has something "Predator-like" over it. ;)

Amazing! You do this for a living?

The Persian green is just a colour I love (hence I'm a big fan of the Mercedes livery this year). The pattern is actually the Adidas flower logo placed over each other, semi-transparently, and twisted in an ever-expanding circle.

Haha, nice idea! :D Greenpeace had a boat that was funded by donations, people could by stuff and actually own it, like the engine, for 250k, or simple bolts, for 3 dollar. That way the boat was funded :) Formula 1 might be a bit more difficult task to run on donations, since it's no charity (though there is a very good cause!) but I like this for-sale-Ebay team :)not sure if you mean it in this way though :)

Cheers Jackmancer - I'm glad it made you smile. I just thought their colours would look good. (A bit 1980's Benetton though....hmmmm) It's fun coming up with these designs, despite the limited software I have at my disposal.

There are some really creative ideas on here - I'm very impressed. I teach DT and when I taught Graphics at my previous school, I always used to think that rather than a company spending a fortune getting logos and corporate identities designed, they should ask a few talented GCSE students to come up with something - some were capable of great ideas.

No, the blank template is a PNG, so that you can colour it easily with Paint :)

Then, my submission is a jpg, but that's the way I like it :)
