Fantastic! What a website- absolutely incredible. If I disappear for a couple of weeks you'll know where I am. Thanks for giving me an excuse not to start that decorating. We have in part I think been here before, but the photography illustrating this entire piece is just magnificent...

Peter Collins at Monaco 1956... but who is his female companion?
and concluded that she definitely was not Louise Cordier.

At the risk of being chided for showboating. Here is a photo taken at Enzo Ferrari's villa, the Villa Rosa, at Maranello of Peter and Louise Collins. It was taken in September 1957 and I too am 100% sure the girl in the Monaco pictures is not Louise. Anyway, going by memory, Peter did not meet Louise until Sebring 1957 when she was modelling in the pits with, I think, the Aston Martin team. Sports Illustrated magazine covered the Sebring race and published a photo of Louise sitting beside an Aston.

Wonderful stuff ... thanks for this! I recently felt moved to visit Peter Collins' grave (I am from Kidderminster, and my mother had a friend who once dated Peter before he rose to fame) so it is great to see such evocative images from this period. The other topics on there are pretty special too ...We have in part I think been here before, but the photography illustrating this entire piece is just magnificent...
